Submission Requirements

Manuscript Preparation

Follow these guidelines carefully to ensure a smooth review process

Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX format
  • Use 12pt Times New Roman or equivalent serif font for body text
  • Double-spacing throughout, including references and figure legends
  • Page margins must be at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides
  • Line numbers should be included for the review process
  • Maximum manuscript length varies by journal — check specific journal guidelines

Structure & Sections

  • Title Page: Title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author details, word count
  • Abstract: Structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions) up to 300 words
  • Keywords: 4-6 keywords for indexing purposes
  • Introduction: Background context, objectives, and significance of the study
  • Methods: Detailed methodology enabling reproducibility
  • Results: Clear presentation of findings with supporting data
  • Discussion: Interpretation of results, limitations, and implications
  • References: Follow journal-specific citation style (APA, Vancouver, etc.)

Figures & Tables

  • Figures must be submitted as separate high-resolution files (300 DPI minimum)
  • Accepted formats: TIFF, EPS, PDF, PNG, or JPEG
  • Each figure must have a descriptive caption below it
  • Tables should be editable (not image format) and numbered sequentially
  • Color figures are published free of charge in the online edition
  • Supplementary figures can be submitted as supporting information

References & Citations

  • Use a consistent citation style as specified by the target journal
  • All references cited in text must appear in the reference list and vice versa
  • Include DOI numbers for all references where available
  • Use reference management software (Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote) recommended
  • Web references should include the URL and date of last access
  • Preprints may be cited but must be clearly identified as such

Ethics & Compliance

  • All research involving human subjects must have IRB/ethics committee approval
  • Animal studies must comply with relevant institutional and national guidelines
  • Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest
  • Informed consent must be obtained and documented for human participants
  • Data fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism are strictly prohibited
  • All authors must meet ICMJE criteria for authorship

Language & Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English
  • American or British English spelling may be used, but must be consistent throughout
  • Non-native English speakers are encouraged to use professional editing services
  • Avoid jargon and define all abbreviations on first use
  • Use SI units for all measurements
  • Statistical methods should be described in sufficient detail

Supplementary Materials

  • Supplementary data, figures, and tables can be submitted separately
  • Large datasets should be deposited in appropriate public repositories
  • Code availability statements are required for computational studies
  • Video and multimedia supplements are accepted in standard formats
  • Supplementary files are reviewed alongside the main manuscript
